The project was aimed at highlighting the unique astronomical event - Venus Transit across the solar disc on 8 June 2004 for public and in media. Many Slovak elementary schools, high schools, public observatories, planetaria, and individual observers took part actively in this project establishing observational network across the Slovakia. The project provided the young people direct experience how are measured distances on cosmic scales. The paneuropean coordinator of the project was the European Southern Observatory (ESO) . The project was supported through EU FP6 program, project No. 508963.
