Dear TRACE colleagues, we would like to ask you for the TRACE support of another g-b DOT/LaPalma (Canary Islands, Spain) observing campaign which should be run together with repetitions of our SOHO JOP 198 and Hinode HOP 020 at the same time in October 2008. Preparing it we would like to change the common TRACE observing procedure, we have used so far, a little bit. For this we need some more information from your team. In particular our question is: is it possible to run the following observing procedure "195 A with 20s cadence + the context WL+1600 images each 5 minutes" with 1kx1k frames for the period 07:00-13:30 UT ? If not how long time such procedure can be run ? How long would be the interval in case of the 768x768 frames ? (Alternatively we also consider another procedure "1600 A with 20s cadence+ the context WL+171 images each 5 minutes" with 1kx1k frames for the period 07:00-13:30 UT). Could you reply if such procedures are possible or for how long period they can last using a reasonable compression algorithm for the data telemetry? With many thanks for your answer beforehand Jan Rybak, on behalf of our campaign team 31/07/2008 ******************************************************************** * Jan Rybak tel. : ++421 52 7879 156 * * Astronomical Institute fax : ++421 52 4467 656 * * Slovak Academy of Sciences e-mail : choc@astro.sk * * 05960 Tatranska Lomnica WWW : http://www.astro.sk/~choc * * Slovak Republic * ******************************************************************** PS: campaign page: http://www.astro.sk/~choc/open/08_dot/08_dot.html
