Dear Alex, at first, thanks a lot for your kind willing to act as POC for our JOP189! We appreciate very much your help you are providing us. Now actions we have done so far: 1/ all involved SOHO instruments (CDS, MDI) and TRACE have been contacted few months before. JOP was included to the SOHO JOP list as JOP189. Today I have sent emails again to CDS planner, MDI planner and TRACE planner (enclosed to this email). 2/ all SOHO observations are planned to be coordinated with the Dutch Open Telescope (DOT) observations. Therefore our 'prime time' is 07:00-13:30 UT as seeing conditions should be the best in this part of the day. We start at DOT on Aug 3 observing till Aug 31 well beyond the SOHO keyhole start. 3/ SOHO+TRACE support we have asked for: CDS support: VARDYN_A/v1 or VARDYN_B/v1 (with VARDYN_C/v1 and VARDYN_D/v1 alternatives - see email sent to the CDS planner). Sit-and-stare mode mostly with some rasters taken at the beginning and at the end (during the time when EIT is doing its 4-image synoptic sequence at ~07:00 and ~13:00). Additionally a full CDS detector exposure. All runs have been already used so no problems should appear. MDI support: we are preferentially interested in the HR magnetograms (1min cadence) and HR intensitygrams (cadence better than 96 min if possible). Alternative are the FD data of the same type. EIS support: regular synoptic images at 7 and 13 UT and CME 195 watch is completely ok for us. TRACE support: 07:00-13:30 UT, 171 + (WL, 1600, Lyman alpha) each ~10 minutes 4/ We are familiar with the policy: we will sent our target selected not later than until 12 UT day before observations (on Friday for Sat, Sun and Mon). 5/ Target: network regions or active region (if available) near the disk center within the MDI HR FOV 6/ Current status: CDS - confirmed cooperation for 3-5 Aug according our wish EIT - no reply (but this is not expected anyway) MDI - FD mag and FD int data scheduled for Aug 3-5 but only on Aug 5 covering our 'prime time'. Aug 3 - just 08:50-09:45 and Aug 4 no overlapping with our 'prime time' TRACE - JOPs 188+194 with higher priority, unclear whether it will support our JOP in our 'prime time' on Aug 3-5. 7/ Items still open: MDI: HR data acquisition is not scheduled for Aug 3-5. Are HR data possible since Aug 6? TRACE: its priority is JOP 188 and JOP194(IHY) but we hope they will be mostly interested in the day interval after our 'prime time' (after 13 UT). Please check an option of sharing the time with these JOPs speaking with the TRACE planner. It would be nice if they could quit following their filaments for the period 07:00-13:00 each day leaving TRACE for joining our JOP target. Please let me know about the result. TRACE cooperation is important for us. 8/ All details on our JOP are given at the SOHO JOP web page under item JOP189 and at the dedicated web page prepared for the campaign: http://www.astro.sk/~choc/open/07_dot/07_dot.html . Alex, if you need more information please feel free to contact me via email at choc@astro.sk or via phone at ++421 52 7879156. I stay tuned to reply.
