Dear SOHO Science Operations Coordinators, our team has been granted by the observing time for the following SST+DOT/LaPalma observing campaign: - title: Spectroscopy and imaging tomography of the solar fibrils: photospheric drivers and coronal consequences - period: 2006.04.11-04.26 (16 days) - coordinator: Jan Rybak (choc@astro.sk) - proposal: http://www.astro.sk/~choc/open/06_opticon_sstdot/rybak_sst_dot_06.pdf - campaign approved and granted by the observing time of SST and DOT: SST schedule: http://www.solarphysics.kva.se/schedule2006.html DOT schedule: http://dot.astro.uu.nl/web-schedule2006.txt - targets: quit sun near the disk center, target selected day in advance according to actual situation at the Sun - time schedule : each day from ~07:00 UT Therefore, we would like to ask you for SOHO support of our g-b campaign using the following instruments: CDS: all details are discussed in these days directly with Peter Young. We are asking just for the regular operations of CDS already included to the flexible operations of CDS. EIT: CME watch in 195 A channel (or 171 channel). The EIT team was not contacted before as we expect that this type of observations is nominal for EIT. MDI: We see that Mar 22 - May 26 2006 - MDI 60 Day Continuous Contact Period with p30vr_fd_m1 - Full Disk Magnetograms/Dopplergrams is scheduled. We can live with this type of data. How frequent are then the intensitygrams available? Operation of our g-b campaign will be performed directly at LaPalma at the SST but using my home email address choc@astro.sk. We are aware that we have to specify the target at least a day in advance. We see no possible conflict with the campaign Apr 12,19 2006 EIT Shutterless #23, 18:00-20:40 UT, but some can appear with the following one (given at the MDI web page): April 2006 Sounding Rocket Launch TBD EUNIS/EIT/CDS/TRACE/VLA POC: Jeff Brosius (Jeffrey.W.Brosius.1@gsfc.nasa.gov) - Full Disk Magnetograms/Continuum - Synoptic Mag/Continuum I am looking forward to hear from you about your decision whether SOHO can support our g-b campaign under specified conditions by EIT, MDI and CDS instruments.
