Dear Dr. Young, our team has been granted by the observing time for the following SST+DOT/LaPalma observing campaign: - title: Spectroscopy and imaging tomography of the solar fibrils: photospheric drivers and coronal consequences - period: 2006.04.11-04.26 (16 days) - coordinator: Jan Rybak (choc@astro.sk) - proposal: http://www.astro.sk/~choc/open/06_opticon_sstdot/rybak_sst_dot_06.pdf - campaign approved and granted by the observing time of SST and DOT: SST schedule: http://www.solarphysics.kva.se/schedule2006.html DOT schedule: http://dot.astro.uu.nl/web-schedule2006.txt - targets: quit sun near the disk center, target selected day in advance according to actual situation at the Sun We would like to ask for the CDS support of our g-b observations. As Peter Gomory is member of the team we would like to ask particularly for the CDS part of his JOP171 which you have modified recently to the following CDS observing operation to make the life easier for the CDS planners: > 5. FLEXIBLE OPERATIONS TO BE RUN THIS WEEK > ------------------------------------------------- > > ** New addition ** > TITLE: SOLAR NETWORK VARIABILITY AND DYNAMICS > DATE: can be run any time. > WHO: Peter Gomory (gomory@ta3.sk) > ACTIVITY: Study the variability and dynamics of the quiet Sun solar > network. > STUDY TO RUN: Either VARDYN_A/v1 (duration 7hr 10min), or VARDYN_B/v1 > (duration 13hr 5min) > TARGET: either quiet Sun or equatorial coronal hole. Must be close to > disk center. > DURATION: Either 7hr 10min or 13hr 5min depending on which study is > run. We would need to start these operations on 06:40 UT in the morning in all days from 2006.04.11-04.26 if possible. Of course, we are open for compromises which can come due to oversubscribed CDS. Please just let me know in which way such compromise can be reached. We are asking for the MDI, EIT and TRACE support as well. Operation of the campaign will be performed directly at LaPalma at the SST but using my home email address choc@astro.sk. We are aware that we have to specify the target day in advance. We would be obliged if you can consider our request for the CDS support of our g-b campaign. With many thanks beforehand Jan Rybak 23/2/2006 ******************************************************************** * Jan Rybak tel. : ++421 52 4467 866-8 (work) * * Astronomical Institute fax : ++421 52 4467 656 (work) * * Slovak Academy of Sciences e-mail : choc@astro.sk * * 05960 Tatranska Lomnica WWW : http://www.astro.sk/~choc * * Slovak Republic * ********************************************************************
