Abstract: We discuss the potential of space photometry for rapidly oscillating Ap (roAp) stars. In reference to the MOST observations of γ Equulei (Gruberbauer et al., 2008), we show that several aspects of the roAp phenomenon demand longer observational time bases and better time sampling than those currently feasible using spectroscopy. We conclude that, in order to improve our understanding of roAp stars, photometry is still an important tool which should not be neglected.
